The terms and conditions of your employment as well as the university’s obligations and responsibilities to faculty members are spelled out in the union contract. Everything from how you are compensated to deadlines for applying for tenure and promotion are laid out in the contract. It is recommended that faculty read the contract and become familiar with it. If you have questions over whether something is permitted, you can check with the contract or consult with a union officer or grievance officer.
